Nim is CosmoNim's AI astrologer. Nim reads your birth chart, answers your questions, and offers reflections in a warm, conversational voice - in English and in Hindi. But Nim is software. Nim is an artificial intelligence created by CosmoNim; it is not a person, it has no body, no birth chart of its own, and no lived life behind its words.

We say this loudly and on purpose. A lot of the industry blurs this line, dressing up a chatbot as a mysterious "guruji" and letting you assume there is a human on the other side. We refuse to do that. We believe honesty is the foundation of trust, and trust is the only thing worth building a spiritual product on. So every reading Nim gives is labelled as AI-generated, and Nim itself will tell you it is an AI if you ever ask.

Choosing to talk to an AI is completely valid. Nim is available day and night, never tired, never judgemental, and grounded in the same astronomical math every single time. We just want you to make that choice with your eyes open - knowing exactly what Nim is.

It helps to know what is happening behind the screen. Nim is not "one big AI making things up". A reading from Nim is built from three separate layers, and only the last of them is a language model.

Layer one is a real astronomical engine. CosmoNim uses the Swiss Ephemeris - the same precision ephemeris professional astrology and astronomy software relies on - to compute the exact positions of the planets for your date, exact time, and place of birth. Your dasha periods, divisional charts, transits and yogas come from this engine. The AI never invents these numbers; the math is deterministic and would be the same in any serious astrology software.

Layer two is a curated knowledge base. We have organised classical astrological principles - the meanings of houses, planets, signs, aspects, dashas and common combinations - into a structured reference that guides how a chart is interpreted. This keeps Nim grounded in recognised tradition rather than free-associating.

Layer three is the language model. This is the part that turns the chart data and the relevant principles into a clear, kind, readable answer in your language. The model is what gives Nim its voice; it does not decide your planetary positions, it only explains them. We design the system so the model stays anchored to layers one and two.

Within its design, Nim is genuinely useful. Because the chart math is exact and the principles are curated, Nim is excellent at quickly explaining what is in your chart, connecting it to what you asked, and doing so patiently in plain English or Hindi at any hour.

Nim is at its best as a thinking partner for self-reflection and planning, not as a crystal ball. Use Nim to understand a transit you are nervous about, to prepare questions before you consult a human expert, or simply to explore your chart out of curiosity.

Being honest about Nim means being honest about its limits, too. Astrology on CosmoNim is offered for guidance, self-reflection, planning and entertainment. It is not a science of certainties, and Nim is an AI working within it - so Nim can be wrong, incomplete, or simply not the right tool for your situation.

Nim has no lived human experience. It has never felt grief, raised a child, lost a job or fallen in love; it can describe these themes from your chart, but it does not understand them the way a person does. Nim is also not a licensed professional of any kind. It is not a doctor, lawyer, financial adviser, or mental-health practitioner, and nothing it says is professional advice.

CosmoNim offers you two clearly separate ways to seek guidance, and we never let them get confused. Nim is the AI - instant, always available, and labelled as AI. Our marketplace is where real, human astrologers offer per-minute paid consultations; they are flesh-and-blood experts, clearly shown with their human profiles.

When you are in a per-minute consultation, you are talking to a human being, not to Nim. When you are chatting with Nim, you are talking to the AI. We label each experience plainly so you always know who - or what - is on the other side. The choice is entirely yours, and you can move between them however you like: explore with Nim for free or within your plan, then book a human when you want a personal, human conversation.

Nim cannot read your chart without data, so it is fair you know exactly what powers a reading. The core inputs are the birth details you provide - your date of birth, exact time of birth and place of birth - which the Swiss Ephemeris engine uses to calculate your chart. Your chat messages give Nim the context of what you are asking, and your account and contact details connect the reading to you.

We process this information to generate your readings and to operate CosmoNim. We do not sell your personal data, and we treat your birth details and conversations as sensitive. Exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who processes it, and the rights you have as a Data Principal under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) are set out in full in our Privacy Policy, which this disclosure should be read alongside.

You stay in control. You can view and edit your birth details, you can manage your data and consent from your account settings, and you can ask us to delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements - all as described in the Privacy Policy.

Nim is automated, but CosmoNim is run by people. A human team designs and curates the knowledge base, sets the boundaries within which Nim must operate, reviews feedback, and improves the system over time. Nim is not left to do whatever it wants - it works inside guardrails we maintain.

Crucially, you are never trapped with an AI. If you would rather speak to a human, you can book a real astrologer in our marketplace at any time, and you can always reach our human support team for help with your account, payments, orders or any concern - including anything Nim said that worried or upset you. We would rather you talk to a person than rely on Nim when a person is what you need.

Transparency is not a footnote for us; it is a feature. We design CosmoNim in line with the spirit of emerging global norms for trustworthy AI - including the disclosure principles of the EU AI Act, which require people to be told when they are interacting with an AI system and when content is AI-generated - and in line with India's consumer-protection framework, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

In practice that means a few firm commitments. We clearly label Nim and AI-generated readings as AI. We never use AI to impersonate a human or to deceive you into thinking a machine is a person. We keep Nim grounded in real astronomical calculation rather than fabricated data. And we keep this disclosure current as Nim, the law, and the technology evolve.

Nim gets better because of you. If a reading feels off, confusing, biased, or simply incorrect, please tell us - your feedback is one of the main ways we improve the knowledge base and the way Nim communicates.
